Layla
Female | Staffy Mix | 2 to 3 yrs
Meet Layla!
Layla was found in the woods near her Foster’s house. She was in heat and being chased by a pack of male dogs that belong to the neighbors. The foster called to her and she ran right to her! She was so thankful to have a safe place to rest and immediately gave her tail wags and kisses. To say that this girl is a sweetheart is an understatement. She loves people and kids and gets the wiggles whenever she’s approached.
She has a tendency to be reactive on the leash towards dogs and would do best with an experienced handler who can work on this. She also gets excited when anything rolls by like bikes, scooters, and skateboards. So being comfortable with redirection is important. Layla needs to be socialized with other dogs carefully. She loves some dogs that she meets and not so much others. She would do well in a single dog family.
She likes walks in the park and rides in the car but can be a wonderful couch potato companion. She is house trained and will vocalize when she needs to go out to potty so pay attention. She knows a few commands like sit and stay and her favorite training treats are cheddar cheese and hotdogs. This girl is a survivor and deserves to be the star of the show.
Layla is heartworm positive and will be receiving her 2nd/ 3rd treatment injections the 2nd week of July. She will be cleared to transport and travel to an approved adopter then2nd week of August.
